14^th Day

Today, the Apostle Matthew guided us through the consultation and election of the four General Councilors. Thanks also to the practical guide for discernment given to us earlier by Mother Pierina, our recollection animator, we were able to make objective decision, in view of the good of our Institute. Through much prayer and consultation, we were able to choose the Sisters who will help our Mother General to animate and govern the Institute according to the will of God.

Before the vesper time, the four Councilors were thus chosen:

Sr. Jasintha Mariappa, provincial superior of Central India,

Sr. Fatima Marafon, a General Councillor for the past sessenium,

Sr. Guadalupe Neri, former Delegate of Mexico 

Sr. Anitha Irene Lobo, president of our college in Assam, north India.

After being elected, each one of them answered “Yes” to Mother Francesca’s interrogation of whether they are willing to accept the post of a General Councilor, while entrusting themselves to God; and even if it cost each of them a self-sacrifice – all for the good of our Institute.
