“THE ADVENTURE OF HOLINESS BEGINS WITH A YES”
This year, we had the joy of celebrating the Easter Triduum, in the Parish of St. Vincent, Cañete, Peru, along with many girls belonging to different parts of our Delegation. It was a very touching experience especially for the young girls, who for two years, due to the pandemic, have not been able to participate in any activities of their Parishes.
For this occasion, we took as our theme, the phrase of St. John Paul II, “THE ADVENTURE OF HOLINESS BEGINS WITH A YES”. This was the leitmotif for the three-day meeting, where we made them acquainted with men and women who have achieved holiness, in their simple and humble service for the love of God. The girls were made to understand, that it was Lord Jesus who taught them first to serve others, through the gesture of kneeling down to wash the feet of his disciples.
The purpose of this three-day gathering was to make known, with more depth, the great love that God has for us, by giving His Son for our salvation, and how, in every moment of life, God still calls people today, to follow in the footsteps of His Son in service, in self-giving and in sacrifice, and to attain holiness every day, wherever they are.
The themes presented and the reflections at the personal level and in groups, led the young people to know Jesus more; in fact, many of them made a commitment to participate more actively in the life of their Parishes and in the Holy Mass.
