7th Day

Thanks to the prayers of our dear Postulants in the Community of Varanasi (India), that inspired us to start the day with renewed energy. The capitulars are now immersed in the heart of the Chapter- spending hours to study, reflect and eventually create a significant output on the Chapter theme.

Most of the groups work “overtime” in order to finish the assigned task of the day. One big challenge is to understand each other despite language differences. One Sister jokingly commented “I feel mentally tired today, but maybe the Holy Spirit is much “more tired.”

The work becomes more stimulating due to the strain of trying to express one’s self in her own language and be understood correctly by the group. For some of us, being in this event means to review the Italian grammar and activate the stuck up vocabulary words in our memory.

The session in the afternoon was devoted to the presentation of the draft produced by the 5 commissions. The draft contained the conviction, action plan and strategies in realizing the proposals in reference to the Chapter theme. The assembly was adjourned at 19:05.

Thank you very much LASA – USA for this moment of prayer for 34th General Chapter
